Cheryl Waterbury, Certified Doula (DONA), CCCE, CLC
Becoming a doula was a dream-come-true for me, as I have always been fascinated with the biology and miracle of birth. After giving birth to my two sons, and later adopting a daughter, the conviction became even stronger that I somehow needed to find a way to support women and couples as they prepare to bring babies into their families.
In 2009 I took the first steps to make my heart’s desire become a reality, and I embarked on the process of my doula training and certification.
As your doula…
I believe that all women deserve to have a positive birth experience, regardless of their individual preferences or circumstances. Through hands-on support and sharing accurate information and resources, I can help women and their partners achieve just that. As a doula, I will guide you through pregnancy and the birth process, providing you the tools to become your own best advocate. I am extremely passionate about each and every birth in which I am involved, and it would be my joy and honor to be a part of your birth team. I am a DONA-certified Birth Doula, a CAPPA-certified Childbirth Educator, and a Certified Lactation Counselor. Additionally, as a retired Teacher of the Deaf, I am fluent in American Sign Language and can provide direct ASL communication with clients who are Deaf.
My home life…
When I’m not doing birth-related work, I share my life with my husband, our daughter, our dog Baxter, and half a dozen beautiful, crazy chickens! I spend as much time as possible digging around in the dirt, creating a variety of crafts, and being Mimi to a few of the cutest grandbabies in the world!
